Comforting and nourishing to the body, mind, and soul, this high protein hot chocolate is full of superfoods and antioxidants while light on the belly.
3T hemp seeds – hulled = 10 g protein
1 T cocoa powder – unsweetened – I use the non-alkali ’cause I like it bitter 🙂
1 tsp coconut oil
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp chili flakes
Optional: 1 tsp lecithin granules – these keep the ingredients from separating, and it’s a healthy food as well
To sweeten: 1 T maple syrup, or 3 dates, or stevia to taste
Put everything in a blender, add 12 oz hot water, and blend until smooth.
Attention! When blending hot liquids place a towel over the blender and pulse a few times to let the steam escape and prevent the top from blowing off.
